Polk County Hot Shots 4-H Newsletter 
October 2009

 

October Meeting: 
The meeting of the Polk County Hot Shots was held at the Ankeny Isaac Walton on October 3rd, 2009. The meeting was called to order by President Allyson at 9 o’clock.  The pledge of allegiance was lead by Allyson.  Leader Kim Hood took roll and 10 members were present. The treasurer’s balance report was $420.10 in the checking account.

 

Please turn in registration papers as soon as possible.  We need to turn them into the extension office by November 14th.  Either mail them to Kim Hood or bring them to the November meeting.

Be sure to sign up to be a Meeting Host or Hostess and to bring treats.  There are still a few months open.

An article from the Ankeny paper about the Ankeny High School Trap Shooting Team was summarized.  Many of the shooting accomplishment of our president Allyson were highlighted in the article.  Allyson took first place among the females in all three state shoots.  She was named to the all-state first team for Girls trap. Allyson ranked second in the 2009 girls all-state scores for the top six individuals.  Congratulations Allyson!!

New officers were elected.  The new officers for the 2009 - 2010 4H year are:

o       President  - Alexander

o       Vice President – Grayson

o       Secretary – Allyson

o       Treasurer – Jared

o       Historian/Reporter – Grace

The next Meeting will be held November 7th, 2009.  The Griess's will be responsible for treats.
